SANTA CRUZ, CA (May 29, 2008) –The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will celebrate 101 summers of fun on Saturday, June 14 with a huge fireworks show on the Main Beach in front of the Boardwalk.
The Boardwalk’s 2008 Fireworks Spectacular is produced by Pyro Spectaculars, the company that has created shows for the 1996, 2002, and 2004 Olympics; the 100th Anniversary of the Statue of Liberty; and the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges in San Francisco.
The Boardwalk’s Fireworks Spectacular starts at 9pm on Saturday, June 14, 2008 on the Main Beach in front of the Boardwalk, admission is free.
Other 2008 Special Events at the Boardwalk
The Amazing Chinese Acrobats will balance on precariously stacked chairs, maneuver bicycles loaded with acrobats, and perform the traditional Lion Dance on the Boardwalk’s Beach Bandstand. Two free shows daily, Sunday through Thursday, July 13 through August 21, 2008.
Free Friday Night Bands on the Beach are back with two free shows every Friday night from June 20 through August 29, 2008. This year’s lineup include The Romantics, Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, Rare Earth, Eddie Money, Sha Na Na, Blue Oyster Cult, John Waite, Santana’s original lead singer Gregg Rolie, Papa Doo Run Run, Gin Blossoms, and The Tubes featuring Fee Waybill.
