| April 2009 Hello Big Kahuna Club! BIG NEWS! We are pleased to announce an exciting line-up for Free Friday Night Bands on the Beach, kicking off with the Fixx on June 19. See the complete schedule! Hit bands making their Boardwalk debut include Patty Smyth and Scandal, Loverboy, Ray Parker Jr., and The Sweet. Returning fan favorites include Eddie Money, Papa Doo Run Run, The Tubes, The Fixx, Santana original lead singer Gregg Rolie, Greg Kihn Band, and Starship starring Mickey Thomas. This truly unique California beach experience gets underway with the Fixx on Friday, June 19. Bands perform free concerts on the Boardwalk's Beach Bandstand at 6:30 and 8:30pm every Friday night June 19 through September 4, 2009.  FREE SUMMER ENTERTAINMENTIn other exciting news, free summer entertainment continues this summer with Cirque Magnifique on the Beach Bandstand from July 12 through August 20. The talented troupe of French Canadian acrobats will hit the beach stage with spinning German wheels, bicycle stunts, trampoline tricks, colorful clowns, and gravity-defying acrobatic feats. Starting July 12, look for two free shows a day every Monday through Thursday at Noon and 3pm, plus Noon and 6pm on Sundays. SPECIAL SUMMER PREVIEW! Mark your calendar for a special summer preview on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 11am to 6pm with performances by Cirque Magnifique, a special concert by The Tubes, and skydivers landing on the beach. Cirque Magnifique will also perform on Sunday, May 17. All Season Preview events are free! SPRING BREAK! Don't forget Comcast Spring Break at the Boardwalk (April 15-17) Meet TV Stars from VH1's "Confessions of a Teen Idol," UFC Fighter Kenny Florian, and professional soccer players from the San Jose Earthquakes. Catch a free concert with Bayonics, Zoo Station, and School of Rock. For younger kids, meet Scooby Doo and join a kids Dance Party on the beach! APRIL SCHEDULE (Weather permitting) Rides are open every day for full operation April 10 -19 and every weekend in April. The park is also open for Limited Operation on weekdays April 20 – 30. Neptune's Kingdom, Casino Arcade and Boardwalk Bowl are open every day. The Boardwalk Bowl is open every day at 9am.  |
