September 2009 Hello Big Kahuna Club! Boardwalk hours change this time of year; please check the schedule before you visit. Schedule Update: Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 5-7 Rides Open at 10am Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, Rides Open Weekends Only 11am to 7pm The Casino Arcade, Neptune's Kingdom, and Boardwalk Bowl are still open daily. View Operating Calendar Public Safety Appreciation Days Aug. 28 – Sept. 4 All Day Unlimited Ride wristbands are just $23.95 (regularly $29.95) for public safety employees and their families. The Boardwalk will donate $3.00 to the Fallen Officer Foundation for every wristband purchased in advance online. Order Online Here 2010 SEASON PASSES Buy a Season Pass starting this Friday (Sept. 4) and use it for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010! The 2010 season pass includes some very cool extras - FREE Arcade games in 2010 (two hours in the Casino Arcade on April 10, two hours in Neptune's Kingdom on September 18), and a ride on the new Haunted Castle Ride before the park opens! Also, enjoy more "bring a friend for free" days plus a couple of "free parking" days. 		Visiting the Boardwalk over Labor Day Weekend? You'll be happy to learn we open an hour early! Rides will open at 10am September 5-7. View Operating Calendar The Boardwalk was just named one of the "Top Ten American Boardwalks" by Forbes magazine. We're right up there with icons like Atlantic City and Coney Island! View Forbes Article Marini's Chocolate Bacon is featured in a new Ripley's Believe It or Not book, "Seeing is Believing." The sweet treat was conceived and created by Joseph Marini under the premise that "most people love bacon and most people also love chocolate." Work has started on the NEW Haunted Castle ride, scheduled to open June 2010. Beginning Sept. 8, there will be a detour on the Boardwalk, around the old ride. (Sorry for any inconvenience.) View Ride Concept on YouTube 2010 Season Passes go on sale Labor Day Weekend. 2010 passes can be used for the rest of 2009, and all of 2010. Price is the same as 2009 ($68.95 + tax) when you buy it before December 31, 2009. What a great summer we've had at the Boardwalk! Amazing entertainment, nice beach weather, and terrific guests made for fun times. Although summer is ending, there are still lots of special events planned for the coming months. Free Friday Night Bands on the Beach September 4 Don't miss the last show of summer! The TUBES featuring Fee Waybill Shows start at 6:30 & 8:30pm USA/Boardwalk Cheer & Dance Competition September 26 - 27 This action-packed event is always fun to watch as dozens of cheerleading teams compete to qualify for Nationals. Gay Family Day at the Boardwalk October 3 - 11am to 7pm Everyone is invited to the Boardwalk's first Gay Family Day on Saturday, October 3 from 11am to 7pm. You'll receive an All-Day Unlimited Ride wristband, a tee shirt (must purchase by 9/21/09), and entry to an event area with booths, kids activities, and entertainment, all for $32.95. (A $3 donation will be made to a LGBT organization for every ticket sold.) More Info and Purchase Online Interested in sharing information? Many rides have occupied the site of the Boardwalk's Haunted Castle.

Laff-Land opened in 1934 featuring dark tunnels decorated with clowns. (How scary is that?)

The Sun Tan Jr. train ran along the Boardwalk from 1928 to 1935.
