Home › Drive For Schools
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk invites your school to participate in the 2026 Drive for Schools, an annual fundraiser that has raised over $10 million for local schools since it began in 2005. We hope you’ll join!
All elementary, middle, and high schools in Santa Cruz County are invited to participate at NO COST. Your students and their families simply collect a $5 donation per ticket. Your school keeps every dollar raised. Your school then brings the ticket stubs to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk no later than 5:00 pm on October 19, 2026 to enter them into a drawing for great prizes. Your school doesn’t need to print tickets or collect prizes – volunteers take care of that. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk contributes a grand prize of $25,000 and five other $1,000 prizes. Local businesses also pitch in almost 100 more great prizes.
Last year, more than 80 schools participated and raised more than $630,000 to help fund arts, music, camps, classrooms, sports, and more. Several schools raised well over $20,000 each! The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which sponsors and coordinates this fundraiser with the generous support of Mission Printers and other local businesses, does not collect any money. Money raised by each school stays with that school.
Due to the volunteer spirit of this event, participating schools may not mandate or coerce the purchase of Drive for Schools tickets in association with the collection of tuition or fees. Please consult your school’s trusted advisor on your school’s fundraising rules and requirements.
To participate, email [email protected] no later than August 28, 2026, at 5:00 pm, with your school name and principal’s name, as well as your fundraising coordinator’s name, email address and cell phone number. If your school signs up by Aug. 28th, tickets and related information will be available for pick-up at the Boardwalk from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on Sept. 9th and 10th, 2026. Selling can start when you receive your tickets and can continue through October 18, 2026. The drawing for all prizes will be held at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a week after the conclusion of the fundraiser, on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 1:00pm.
As you plan for the ’26-’27 school year, we hope your school will be part of DRIVE FOR SCHOOLS!
Sincerely,
Charles Canfield, Chairman
